IPAS Indonesia Foundation, in collaboration with the Post-Abortion Care (PAC) training facilitators from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Gadjah Mada University (FK-KMK UGM), organized a refresher workshop for PAC trainers and master trainers.
This training, held on June 22 and 23 at the Alana Convention Center Yogyakarta, also introduced the latest PAC Model Curriculum. It commenced with the IPAS Indonesia Foundation’s first project, Integrated Women’s Reproductive Health (PEKERTi), the primary focus of which is to ensure that every woman and adolescent girl has access to comprehensive and woman-centered PAC services.
Several activities were carried out in 2018, where the IPAS Indonesia Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and FK-KMK UGM, developed PAC training modules and curriculum, conducted training of master trainers for comprehensive post-abortion care services, and provided training and monitoring for PAC service providers in 3 districts/cities, among others.
This two-day workshop aims to ensure that trainers and master trainers are informed about the latest PAC training module curriculum and can provide input on it. Approximately 12 PAC training facilitators attended and received a presentation on the structure of the latest PAC training curriculum.
On day 1, facilitators were invited to discuss the curriculum structure to determine if the allocated materials and learning hours were adequate. Each facilitator was tasked with reviewing the training module materials, so that on day 2, these materials could be adjusted to align with current health policies.
Through this workshop, it is hoped that trainers and master trainers will be aware of the updated PAC training module curriculum. Moving forward, it is anticipated that this PAC training module curriculum will be ratified and accredited, ensuring that all future PAC training conducted is standardized. (*)
