This project aims to improve the quality and innovation of reproductive health services, particularly those related to miscarriage. We conducted trials in Ponorogo (East Java), Klaten (Central Java), and Yogyakarta City by strengthening the health system through a series of training and guidance for healthcare providers, and by establishing a referral network between services and the community.
During the project implementation period (2017-2020), Yayasan IPAS Indonesia (IPAS Indonesia Foundation) and its partners achieved significant milestones:

  • Developed the National Post-Miscarriage Care (PMC) Guidelines, supported by the Directorate of Family Health, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Indonesian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Conducted PMC-related training in 13 partner health facilities, involving 9 obstetricians/gynecologists, 21 general practitioners, and 54 midwives.
  • Developed comprehensive, evidence-based PMC Clinical Protocol Guidelines in 7 hospitals/clinics, approved by the respective facility directors.
  • Reached 433 change agents in reproductive health, 91% of whom are women.
These achievements reflect the project’s significant impact on improving the quality and innovation of reproductive health services, particularly those related to miscarriage, in the region.
