According to information gathered by the TAKENUSA team, residents of Nobo have evacuated to the Konga post, located in Titehena District. Meanwhile, Riang Baring residents remain in their village, with access closed off and security maintained. <\/p>\n
\u201cAccording to information from the Health Office, eruptions can still be heard near the Konga post, usually at night. He added that the local government has collaborated and coordinated to handle this disaster. To help alleviate the impact of this disaster, the IPAS Indonesia Foundation sent 150 dignity kits or individual kits. These kits contain basic items needed to maintain hygiene, especially those related to reproductive health, during a disaster. The kits include detergent powder, sanitary pads, underwear, flashlights, toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, and combs. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe plan is for these kits to be distributed to affected midwives in Ile Bura, as well as to women and adolescent girls,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Several midwives have left their homes due to damage from the eruption. Nevertheless, they are still performing their service duties at the evacuation posts. \u201cTherefore, the Community Health Center requested them to work at the Konga post while also being able to look after their families in the evacuation,\u201d Kusy added. <\/p>\n
The individual kits were sent from Kupang to Larantuka Airport, East Flores. Afterward, the aid will be delivered to the posts through collaboration with TAKENUSA program partner, the Foundation for Social Studies and Development (YPPS) East Flores. <\/p>\n
\u201cFor this shipment, we were assisted by the Indonesian Air Force for the delivery from Kupang to Larantuka, and it was all free of charge. Currently, the dignity kits have arrived in Larantuka and are ready for distribution to the posts,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
