The IPAS Indonesia Foundation held a meeting with Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi on April 17, 2025. This meeting aimed to strengthen government support for the implementation of the ARUNIKA project (Empowered Women Towards an Indonesia Free from Violence). <\/p>\n
The ARUNIKA project was launched in November 2024 with the aim of supporting health services for victims of violence, in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes. ARUNIKA is being implemented in Semarang Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, and Surakarta City. <\/p>\n
During the meeting, the Central Java Governor expressed full support and requested that the health service model for victims of violence be expanded to all regencies\/cities in Central Java. “This model must be replicated. It should not stop at just three regions,” Ahmad Luthfi emphasized. <\/p>\n
Government support is one of the important elements for the project’s continuity and sustainability. Furthermore, collaboration is key in striving to provide health services for victims of violence. <\/p>\n

This commitment strengthens our hope to realize a service system that is more responsive, inclusive, and grounded in the rights of survivors,” she stated.<\/p>\n
In 2022, the IPAS Indonesia Foundation and the Central Java Regional Police supported the establishment of a Forensic Clinic at Bhayangkara Hospital Semarang, intended as a service center for victims of sexual and gender-based violence.<\/p>\n
With strategic collaboration, the IPAS Indonesia Foundation hopes that the ARUNIKA project can encourage the emergence of services that are not only responsive but also transformative in addressing violence against women and children in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
